How to find your Google Place ID
A Place ID is the code Google uses for one business on Google Maps. Most start with ChIJ and are 27 or more characters long.
- Open Google’s Place ID Finder.
- Type your business name in the search box on the map and pick it from the list.
- Copy the Place ID shown on the map.
- Paste it into the box at the top of this page and press Make QR code.
Can I paste a Google Maps link instead?
Yes, if the link contains the Place ID. Links with placeid=, place_id: or query_place_id= in them work. The short share link from the Maps app (maps.app.goo.gl/…) does not include the Place ID, so use Google’s Place ID Finder instead.
If you manage the business on Google, your Business Profile also gives you a review link. It opens the same review box.
Test the QR code before you print
- Scan the code on screen with your own phone camera.
- Check that your business name appears at the top of the review box.
- If you can, try one Android phone and one iPhone.
Customers need to be signed in to a Google account to post a review. Most Android users already are.
How to print and place your review stand
| Size | Dimensions | Where it works |
|---|---|---|
| A6 | 105 × 148 mm | Dining tables, bill folders, takeaway counters, inside delivery bags |
| A5 | 148 × 210 mm | Billing counter, entrance, waiting area, near the exit |
- Paper: 250 to 300 gsm matte card. Glossy paper reflects light and can make the code harder to scan.
- Printing: choose 100% or "Actual size" so the stand comes out at the right size. Any local print shop can do this from the PDF your browser saves.
- Holding it up: an acrylic table stand or lamination keeps it clean on busy tables.
- Placement: put it where people wait, such as the billing counter while they pay or the table when the bill arrives.
- Asking: a short, friendly line from staff works best. Ask every customer the same way.
What Google allows when you ask for reviews
Google's rules are simple. Asking is fine; influencing the review is not.
- Don't offer anything for a review: no discounts, free items or cashback.
- Ask everyone. Don't pick and choose who gets the link, and don't screen customers before sending them to Google.
- Don't write reviews for your own business, or ask staff, friends or family to.
- Never pay anyone for reviews.
Google can remove reviews and restrict profiles that break these rules. Read the full Google Maps content policy.
Static or dynamic QR code?
This tool makes a static QR code. It holds Google's own review link directly, with no redirect in between. It cannot expire, and it keeps working even if this website goes away.
A dynamic QR code holds a short link run by another company, which then redirects to the real page. You can change where it points later, but if that company's service stops or the subscription ends, every printed code stops working.
Frequently asked questions
How do I get a Google review QR code?
Paste your Place ID or a Maps link that contains it into the tool at the top of this page. It makes a QR code that opens your review box, and a counter stand to print. Download it as PNG or SVG. No account is needed. Our review link tool gives you the plain link.
Is the Google review QR code generator free?
Yes. It is free, needs no sign-up and makes the code in your browser. You pay only for the printing, at any local print shop. If you want our team to ask customers for reviews and reply to them, that is a separate managed review service.
How do I generate a QR code in Google?
If you manage the business on Google, your Business Profile can give you a review link and a share option. To turn the link into a print-ready QR code and counter stand, paste your Place ID or Maps link into the tool at the top. See our Business Profile guide.
Can I add my logo to the Google review QR code?
No. This tool makes a plain code, and the business name you type goes on the printed stand, not a logo. A plain code is also the safest to scan. If you want a branded design, a print shop can place the downloaded SVG into your artwork. See the review link tool too.
Is this a static or a dynamic Google review QR code?
It is static. The code holds Google's own review link directly, with no redirect, so it cannot expire and keeps working even if this website goes away. A dynamic code points to a short link run by another company, which can stop working if that service ends. See our reviews FAQ.
What file formats does the review QR code come in?
You can download the code as a PNG, or as an SVG, which is the better choice for printers because it stays sharp at any size. The counter stand prints from your browser in two sizes, a postcard size and a larger one. Our local SEO service covers the profile behind the code.
How do I print the Google review QR code stand?
Choose your size, type the business name, and press print. Print at one hundred percent or Actual size, not Fit to page, on heavy matte card, since glossy paper reflects light and can make scanning harder. Any local print shop can print the PDF your browser saves. See the review guide.
Where should I put my Google review QR code?
Put it where customers wait or pay: the billing counter, the table when the bill arrives, the entrance or the waiting area. A short friendly line from staff helps, and you should ask every customer the same way. See how this works for restaurants or any other business.
Does the Google review QR code expire, and do customers need a Google account?
It does not expire. It holds Google's review link directly, so it works as long as your Google listing exists. Customers do need to be signed in to a Google account, because Google only accepts reviews from signed-in people. Test it on your own phone before printing. See trust and safety.
What are the Google review guidelines for a QR code?
Reviews must reflect a real customer experience. Businesses must not offer incentives, ask selectively, write their own reviews or pay for them. A counter stand that every customer can see follows those rules. Do not screen customers before sending them to Google. See our review replies service.
Can I delete a bad Google review that came through my QR code?
No. Business owners cannot delete reviews. You can reply publicly, and you can report a review that breaks Google's policies, such as spam or a conflict of interest. Google decides whether to remove it. Replies are written in your voice. Negative reviews are handled by a person on our team. See review replies.
Can the QR code ask customers for a review automatically after each visit?
No. A printed code waits until a customer scans it. Asking each customer after a visit is a separate add-on from our team, through WhatsApp, SMS or a QR code, once we connect to your CRM or billing system. It is priced on a call. See review requests.
